The Society is devoted to the goal of seeing Joe claim his rightful place in the Baseball Hall of Fame. For this to occur, Joe must first be removed from the ineligible list by Major League Baseball.
At the present time the Society is awaiting a ruling on the petition filed by Ted Williams on behalf of Joe Jackson in 1998. The petition is being reviewed by the Commissioner of Baseball Bud Selig. The Commissioner's office is reviewing the petition in detail which is a good sign. In the past, petitions have been given little weight and have returned a swift answer of "NO" as to the clearing of Joe's name from Major League Baseball's Ineligible List.
