"Baker Bowl"

When Joe broke in with the Athletics, were the A's playing in Baker Bowl at the time? Did Joe have any homers with the A's??

Shibe Park was not opened until April 12, 1909.....Joe debuted for the A's on August 25, 1908....so I suppose Joe did indeed play 5 games somewhere other than Shibe Park. In 1909 the A's were in their brand new ballpark and that is where Joe played at that time. Out of 40 at bats.....Joe only had 6 hits for his A's career....Joe was not happy in Philly....and his at the plate performance showed it!!

Shoeless Joe Jackson his debut with Phildelphia Athletics vs. Cleveland Naps on Aug. 25,1908.....Heinie Berger pitched to him.
Naps won the game 3-2...but I can't find information with box score statics. Did he get his hit in his debut?

Just so we have it covered everywhere this question has been asked and answered.

His debut was actually against the Cleveland ballclub, not the Cincinnati club. See the following link for a boxscore on that game: http://www.blackbetsy.com/pdf/Philly-A-Stuff/8-26-1908-jackson-debut.pdf.
